Free State Corvette Club Ocean City, MD Corvette Weekend 2008 October 3 - 4, 2008
The 2008 Free State Corvette Ocean City Weekend is scheduled for October 3 & 4, 2008. On-line registration for the 2008 Free State Corvette Ocean City Weekend will be open as of June 1, 2008 and will close September 19, 2008.
This year the Holiday Inn at 6600 Coastal Highway will be our Host Hotel.
Portions of the proceeds from this event sponsor the Spina Bifida Association of Maryland and other area charities.
Please register using our convenient on-line registration form. Just fill in the blanks and submit.
We expect more than 700 Corvettes for this special weekend and some events will be limited, so please register early. You must sign-in and pick up your registration packet in person at the Holiday Inn in Ocean City to participate in any of the events.
You must have passes, which will be included in your registration packet, to participate in any of the events. We recommend that you pick up your registration packet on Friday in order to beat the rush.
All participants in the Friday Night Welcoming Party, Boardwalk Parade, Fun Shows, Rallies and Saturday night dinner must be registered in order to participate. The competitive events will be NCCC sanctioned. All drivers must possess a valid drivers license for all events.
The Weekend Registration Fee entitles you to a variety of privileges, including:
Friday Night Welcoming Party at the Holiday Inn with music. Entrance is FREE to registered participants with their event pass.
Participation in the Boardwalk Parade of Corvettes on Saturday afternoon
Admittance to the Awards Ceremony on Saturday evening
Car Dash plaque (to the first 600 paid registered cars)
Patch and Event Pin (to the first 1200 paid registered participants)
Goody Bag (to the first 300 paid registered cars)
NO TRAILER PARKING OR UNLOADING AT THE INLET PARKING LOT
This year's schedule for the 2008 Ocean City Corvette Weekend will include the following competitive events, which will be sanctioned by NCCC. All drivers must possess a valid drivers license for all events.
Single Fun Show
Spina Bifida Fun Show (must be registered in the Single Fun Show to participate in the Spina Bifida Fun Show)
Celebrity Judge Fun Show
Single Poker Rallye (navigator required)
Double Rallye (navigator required and must be registered in the Single Rallye to participate in the Double Rallye)
NOTE: Competitive events have been scheduled so that you can do all five (5) events and still be able to do the Boardwalk Parade of Corvettes.
In a Fun Show, the Corvettes are separated into Classes chosen by the Host Club. Entrants then vote for their favorite car in each class, except their own class. In Ocean City, we will run three (3) Fun Shows simultaneously: the Single Fun Show, the Spina Bifida Fun Show and the Celebrity Judge Fun Show. Each participating car will receive a free Corvette Weekend dash plaque. Trophies will be awarded for each Show. (Registration limited to the first 300 paid corvettes.)
In Ocean City, we will run two (2) Rallies simultaneously. The Single Rallye will be a Poker Rallye and if you register for the Double Rallye you will be doing the Single Poker Rallye in addition to a Gimmick Rallye. Each participating car will receive a free Corvette Weekend dash plaque. Trophies will be awarded for each Rallye. (Registration limited to the first 150 paid corvettes.)
Participants must register for the above events on the registration form. Each car participating in the Fun Show(s) and Rallye(s) will receive a free dash plaque.
Both driver and navigators are eligible for NCCC points for the competitive events. You and the navigator must provide your NCCC number on the registration form to ensure proper credit.
The public is invited to attend the Fun Show events and the Boardwalk Parade of Corvettes as spectators.
The Friday Night Welcome Party will host the 2008 Corvette Idol Event. Our wonderful band from last year, On the Rise, will be back to make this a first class competition. For an additional fee, a light dinner will be available. Cash bar.
YES!!!! You can drive your car on the Boardwalk. Magnificent parade with over 500 cars driving on the Boardwalk. Onlookers all along the Boardwalk, spectators waving from hotel rooms, cameras flashing and YOU driving YOUR Corvette on the Boardwalk, the envy all those onlookers and spectators!!! Boardwalk Parade will start at approximately 4:00pm.
This year we have made arrangements with our Host hotel, Holiday Inn, to host and cater our Saturday night buffet dinner. After the Boardwalk Parade of Corvettes participants who have paid for the dinner can proceed to the Holiday Inn.
After the buffet dinner, trophies will be awarded. Cash bar will be available.
This year, Free State Corvette Club will offer a new design for the Corvette Weekend 2008 Apparel. T-shirts, golf shirts, sweatshirts, hats and other items will be available. Quantities will be limited so we recommend that you pre-order using the on-line registration form and pre-pay by September 24 for pickup in Ocean City on Friday, October 3.
We sold out of all items last year and we expect this years design to be just as attractive, so please order when you register to ensure that you get your apparel in your size. Not all items will be available for purchase in Ocean City. You may purchase apparel on-line without registering, but you must still complete portions of the on-line registration form. Please go to the "registration" icon on the left side of this page. If payment is not received by September 24 your apparel order will be cancelled.
The Holiday Inn on 67th Street has been selected as our Host hotel. The Holiday Inn is located at 6600 Coastal Highway (67th Street/Oceanfront). It has two (2) large parking lots. Our Welcoming/Information Committee, Registration, Car Teching, the Friday Night Welcoming Party, the Saturday night buffet dinner and the Awards Ceremony will take place at this location.

Our Spina Bifida friends, that Free State Corvette Club has invited to attend, will judge the Spina Bifida Fun Show and we will have 2 Celebrity Judges judge the third show. You must be registered for the Single Fun Show to register/participate in the Spina Bifida Show. Each Show will be awarded trophies. Each Show registered participant will be awarded NCCC points. Each registered participating car will receive a dash plaque. We will also be awarding an "Ocean City Choice" trophy.
Starting point will be at the Inlet Parking Lot.
