Introduction

Welcome to the 27th Anniversary of the Free State Corvette Club Corvette Weekend, Ocean City Maryland! Corvette Weekend is scheduled for October 4th and 5th, 2013. On-line registration for the 2013 Corvette Weekend opens June 1st and closes at midnight on September 14th. After this cutoff date, late registration will be open at Ocean City for all events except the purchase of the buffet dinners. Late event registration and apparel purchase is based upon availability. Once again, the Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel at 10100 Coastal Highway will be our host hotel. Proceeds from this event sponsor the Spina Bifida Association of Maryland and other area charities.

Overview of Events

Corvette Weekend kicks off Friday morning at the Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel. Park your car and come into the hotel’s Grand Ballroom. The ballroom will be open from Friday at 11:00 AM until 8:00 PM. You will be greeted by our welcoming committee. Once you complete your initial paperwork, you will be directed to the pre-registration table to pick up your packet, or to the late registration table where you can sign up and pay for your Corvette Weekend events (Cash, check and credit cards accepted). After clearing registration you will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets, 50/50 tickets, etc. You will then enter the apparel area where you can pick up your pre-purchased order of merchandise (highly recommended) or purchase official show apparel on the spot, based upon availability (Cash, check and credit cards accepted). And finally you will be able to stroll the aisles of the many vendors tables set up. Once you leave the Grand Ballroom you will want to take your car to the teching group to have your car inspected (required for all cars).

Friday night is the Welcoming party. This party is held upstairs in the Clarion Resort’s Crystal Ballroom from 7:00 PM until 11:00 PM. Attendance is included with your Corvette Weekend General Registration. Wear your dancing shoes and get ready for a great party with live entertainment. For an additional fee, a dinner buffet will be available, as well as a cash bar.

Saturday morning, late registration will be at the Inlet Parking Lot from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Show and Rallye participants must be registered by 8:30 AM, checked in with Show/Rallye personnel by 9:00 AM and be present at the Drivers Meeting. Registrants in the fun shows will park your cars in our secured show area, wipe them down, and then enjoy viewing your fellow Corvette enthusiast’s cars. Also, those registered for the car rallyes will stage their cars in an area adjacent to the fun show before heading out on an adventure around the Ocean City area. Early afternoon the participants for the boardwalk parade will begin to stage their cars in the secured Inlet parking area.

At 4:00 PM the parade begins with the hundreds of Corvettes cruising up the Ocean City boardwalk. Following the boardwalk parade, you will want to come back to the Clarion Resort for the Saturday night party and awards ceremony. Admission to the party is included with your Corvette Weekend registration. For an additional fee, a dinner buffet will be available, as well as a cash bar. After dinner, the award ceremony will be held, wrapping up the 27th Anniversary of the Free State Corvette Club Corvette Weekend, Ocean City Maryland.

• The Ocean City town council reserves the right to modify, suspend, or cancel operations on the boardwalk without notice to the Free State Corvette Club.
• Availability to events and apparel for late registration are on a first come, first served basis. Events and apparel are based upon limited quantities, and is why we encourage you to preregister.
• If you are ticketed for lack of license plates, as required by your state law, you will be disqualified from the event per NCCC rules.

Event Details

General Registration

All Corvette Weekend events require you to have a General Registration wristband. Your paid General Registration includes at no additional fee the following: Admission to the Friday night Welcoming Party, Participation in the Saturday afternoon boardwalk parade, admission to the Saturday Night party/awards show, car dash plaque (first 600 registrants), patch and pin (first 1200 registrants), and a goodie bag (first 100 PAID registered cars). Other Corvette Weekend events (Dinners, Shows and Rallye’s) are available for an additional fee. General Registration can be purchased in advance through the online registration form between June 1, 2013 and September 14, 2013. General Registration can also be purchased at Late Registration on Friday October 4, 2013 at the Clarion Resort.

Apparel

Free State Corvette Club will offer a new design for the Corvette Weekend 2013 Apparel. T-shirts, Men’s and Ladies Polo Shirts, Sweatshirts, and Hats will be available. The last day to pre-order apparel will be September 7, 2013. Quantities at the event will be limited so we recommend that you pre-order using the on-line registration form and pre-pay by September 20th for pickup in Ocean City on Friday, October 4th. We sold out of most items last year and we expect this year’s design to be just as popular, so please order when you register to ensure that you get your apparel in your size. Not all items will be available for purchase in Ocean City. You may purchase apparel on-line without registering, but you must still complete portions of the on-line registration form. Please go to the Event Registration tab on the top of this page. If payment is not received by September 20th your apparel order will be cancelled.

Fun Shows

The 2013 Corvette Weekend features three (3) NCCC-sanctioned competitive car shows: Single Fun Show, Spina Bifida Fun Show (Includes Single Fun Show registration), and Celebrity Judge Fun Show. In our Fun Show, the Corvettes are separated into Classes chosen by the Free State Corvette Club. New for 2013 will be a separate judged class for custom Corvettes. The Show Field lot is located at the “Inlet Parking Lot” - The Hugh T. Cropper Inlet Parking Lot located at the southern most point of Ocean City. Our Spina Bifida friends, that Free State Corvette Club has invited to attend, will judge the Spina Bifida Fun Show and we will have 2 Celebrity Judges judge the third show. Entrants are able to vote for their favorite car in each class, except their own class. Each participating car will receive a free Corvette Weekend dash plaque and trophies will be awarded for each Show. Fun Show registration limited to the first 300 paid Corvettes and driver must have a General Registration wristband.

The gate opens at 7:30AM at the Inlet Parking Lot. Check-In is from 7:30AM to 9:00AM at the Show Tent. Please have your rags down by 9:30 AM and then assemble at the Show tent for a 9:35 AM drivers meeting. Judging will take place from 9:45 AM until 12:00 PM for all three (3) shows. The Award Presentation will be held Saturday evening at the Awards Ceremony at the Clarion Resort.

Car Rallyes

We will run four (4) NCCC-Sanctioned Rallyes simultaneously; a Single, Double, Triple, and Quadruple Rallye. The Single Rallye will be a Poker Rallye – High Hand. The Double Rallye includes the Poker Rallye – High Hand plus a Scrabble Rallye. The Triple Rallye includes the Poker – High Hand, Scrabble plus a Poker Low Rallye. The Quadruple Rallye includes the Poker – High Hand, Scrabble, Poker Low, and Gimmick (picture) rallye. Both driver and a required navigator must have General Registration wristbands. All Rallyes are NCCC sanctioned. Children must be 9 years of age or older on the day of the rallye to participate as a navigator. All drivers must possess a VALID DRIVERS LICENSE and will be asked to present it at sign-in. If you are ticketed for lack of license plates, as required by your state law, you will be disqualified from the event per NCCC rules. Several checkpoints will be set up along the driving course. Each Rallye will be awarded trophies. Both driver and navigators are eligible for NCCC points for the competitive events if you provide your NCCC number on the registration form. Each registered participating car will receive a dash plaque. The Rallye will be limited to the first 150 registered PAID Corvettes.

Starting point will be at the “Inlet Parking Lot” - The Hugh T. Cropper Inlet Parking Lot located at the southern most point of Ocean City. The gate opens at 7:30AM at the Inlet Parking Lot. Check-In is from 7:30AM to 9:00AM at the Rallye Tent. Please assemble at the Rallye tent for a 9:15 AM drivers meeting. The first car will be dispatched at 09:45 AM. If you are also participating in the Car Show, please report to the Rallye starting point at 11:45. The Award Presentation will be held Saturday evening at the Awards Ceremony at the Clarion Resort.

Boardwalk Parade

The parade up the Ocean City Boardwalk is included in the weekend General Registration, therefore the driver and passenger must be paid General Registrants. YES, you can drive your car on the famous Boardwalk. This is always a highlight for most Corvette Weekend participants. The magnificent parade with over 500 cars driving on the Boardwalk cruises up to onlookers all along the Boardwalk, spectators waving from hotel rooms, cameras flashing and YOU driving YOUR Corvette on the Boardwalk, the envy of all those onlookers and spectators!!! Staging for the parade begins at 1:00 PM at the Inlet. The Boardwalk Parade will start at 4:00 PM. Note that cars already parked in the Inlet who participated in the Fun Shows will be of the first to stage for the Boardwalk Parade. FSCC members will be there to direct you to the staging lanes for the parade at 1:00 PM. See the General Registration section above for the cost per person to participate in the Boardwalk Parade.

Friday Night Kick Off Party and Buffet Dinner

Friday night is the Welcoming party. This party is held upstairs in the Clarion Resort’s Crystal Ballroom from 7:00 PM until 11:00 PM. Slap on your dancing shoes and come on in for a Friday of dinner, dancing and fun! The party is FREE to all paid registered participants; you must be wearing your wristband to enter.  We will be featuring Comfort Zone – a seven-piece band that wows the region. “Whew, what a show! Who would have thought that a group that bills themselves as contemporary jazz would turn out to be such a dancer’s delight?!?” (quote from a local fan) So come and join us for dancing, door prizes, raffles and a cash bar!

The buffet is available to registered participants who have paid in advance for the buffet.  Friday night’s menu includes Maryland Crab Soup, Steamed Shrimp, Maryland Fried Chicken, Ziti and much more! The cost is $32.00 per person. Enjoy a great meal while listening to the fabulous sounds of Comfort Zone. The Friday night buffet must be pre-ordered; it cannot be purchased at the late registration. The buffet dinner is served from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Saturday Night Buffet Dinner and Award Ceremony

What better way to end your day than to roll off of the OC boardwalk in your sweet Corvette, head over to the Clarion and sit down for a nice dinner prior to the 2013 Awards Ceremony. This years Saturday buffet will include: salad bar; roast top sirloin – carved to order; Parmesan and herb encrusted flounder with lemon caper cream sauce; chef’s choice of starch and vegetable; coffee and tea; dessert, at $36.00 per person (cash bar available) and is served from 6:00 PM until 7:30. This party is held directly upstairs from the Grand Ballroom at the Clarion Resort. Admission to the party is included with your Corvette Weekend registration.

Awards Ceremony will begin at 8:00, seating starts at 7:45. Complete your Corvette Weekend experience by attending our new and improved awards ceremony – full of trophies, raffles and drawings.  This year’s event is not to be missed!

Come to the Clarion on Friday to register or get your preregistration packets, purchase or pickup preordered apparel, visit the many vendors set up inside, and to get your car teched.
