OCEAN CITY, MD CORVETTE WEEKEND 2010

OCTOBER 15-16, 2010

The 2010 Free State Corvette Ocean City, MD Weekend is scheduled for October 15 & 16, 2010. 

On-line registration for the 2010 Free State Corvette Ocean City, MD Weekend will be open as of June 1, 2010 and will close midnight September 26, 2010.  Last day to pre-order apparel will be September 12.

This year the Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel at 10100 Coastal Highway will be our Host Hotel.

Proceeds from this event sponsor the Spina Bifida Association of Maryland and other area charities.

Please register using our convenient on-line registration form.  Just fill in the blanks and hit submit.

We expect more than 700 Corvettes for this special weekend and some events will be limited, so please register early.  You must sign-in and pick up your registration packet in person at The Clarion Hotel in Ocean City to participate in any of the events.

You must have passes, which will be included in your registration packet, to participate in any of the events.  We recommend that you pick up your registration packet on Friday in order to beat the rush.

All participants in the Friday Night Welcoming Party, Boardwalk Parade, Fun Shows, Rallyes and Saturday night dinner must be registered in order to participate.  The competitive events will be NCCC sanctioned.  All drivers must possess a valid drivers license for all events.

All events will take place rain or shine.

Saturday, October 16, 7:30am – 8:30am for Show & Rallye  and 8:30am – 10am for all other events (“Inlet Parking Lot” - The Hugh T. Cropper Inlet Parking Lot located at the southern most point of Ocean City)

CORVETTE WEEKEND EVENT DETAILS:

COMPETITIVE EVENTS:

This year's schedule for the 2010 Ocean City Corvette Weekend will include the following competitive events, which will be sanctioned by NCCC.  All drivers must possess a valid drivers license for all events.

            *Single Fun Show
            *Spina Bifida Fun Show (Includes Single Fun Show registration)
            *Celebrity Judge Fun Show 
            *Poker Rallye (Navigator required)
            *Gimmick or Scrabble Rallye (Navigator required.  Includes Poker Rallye registration)

            *Triple Rallye – Poker, Gimmick & Scrabble (Navigator required.)

NOTE:  Competitive events have been scheduled so that you can do all six (6) events and still be able to do the Boardwalk Parade of Corvettes.

*Fun Show:  (additional fee)

            In a Fun Show, the Corvettes are separated into Classes chosen by the Host Club.  Entrants then vote for their favorite car in each class, except their own class.  In Ocean City, we will run three (3) Fun Shows simultaneously:  the Single Fun Show, the Spina Bifida Fun Show and the Celebrity Judge Fun Show.  Each participating car will receive a free Corvette Weekend dash plaque.  Trophies will be awarded for each Show.  (Registration limited to the first 300 paid corvettes)

*Rallye:  (additional fee)

            In Ocean City, we will run three (3) Rallyes simultaneously.  The Poker Rallye, Gimmick Rallye and Scrabble Rallye.  The Poker Rallye is mandatory to enter either the Gimmick or Scrabble Rallyes.  Each participating car will receive a free Corvette Weekend dash plaque.  Trophies will be awarded for each Rallye.  (Registration limited to the first 150 paid corvettes)

Participants must register for the above events on the registration form.  Each car participating in the Fun Show(s) and Rallye(s) will receive a free dash plaque.

Both driver and navigators are eligible for NCCC points for the competitive events.  You and the navigator must provide your NCCC number on the registration form to ensure proper credit.

The public is invited to attend the Fun Show events and the Boardwalk Parade of Corvettes as spectators at no charge.

NON-COMPETITIVE EVENTS:

*Friday Night Party (included in the Weekend Registration Fee)

            FREE to all registered participants of Corvette Weekend.  Wear your dancing shoes and get ready for a great party.  Featured this year - Appaloosa.  For an additional fee (**Tax & Gratuity Included), a dinner buffet will be available including but not limited to Famous Maryland Crab Soup, Fresh Carved Turkey Breast, Pulled Pork, Mini Franks in a Puff Pastry, Ranch Style Fries, Corn on the Cob, Snap Peas  & Carrots, Homemade Cookies and Gourmet Brownies  **Tax & Gratuity Included.  Cash bar.

*Boardwalk Parade of Corvettes:  (included in the Weekend Registration Fee)

            YES!!!!  You can drive your car on the Boardwalk.  Magnificent parade with over 500 cars driving on the Boardwalk.  Onlookers all along the Boardwalk, spectators waving from hotel rooms, cameras flashing and YOU driving YOUR Corvette on the Boardwalk, the envy of all those onlookers and spectators!!!  Boardwalk Parade will start at approximately 4:00pm.

*Saturday Night Dinner:  (additional fee – **Tax & Gratuity Included)

            This year we have made arrangements with our Host hotel, The Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel, to host and cater our Saturday night buffet dinner including but not limited to Steamed Shrimp, Crab Legs, Carved Roast Top Round, Fettucine Alfredo, Maryland Fried Chicken, Red Bliss Sauteed Potatoes, Mixed Steamed Vegetables, Gourmet Cakes & Pies.  After the Boardwalk Parade of Corvettes participants who have paid for the dinner can proceed to The Clarion – Crystal Ballroom, 2^nd floor. 

*Awards Ceremony:  (included in the Weekend Registration Fee)

            After the buffet dinner trophies will be awarded.  Silent Auction and other surprises. Cash bar will be available.    

*Apparel:  (additional fee)

            This year, Free State Corvette Club will offer a new design for the Corvette Weekend 2010 Apparel.  T-shirts, golf shirts, sweatshirts, hats and other items will be available. Quantities will be limited so we recommend that you pre-order using the on-line registration form and pre-pay by October 2 for pickup in Ocean City on Friday, October 15. 

            We sold out of all items last year and we expect this years design to be just as attractive, so please order when you register to ensure that you get your apparel in your size.  Not all items will be available for purchase in Ocean City.  You may purchase apparel on-line without registering, but you must still complete portions of the on-line registration form.  Please go to the “registration” icon on the left side of this page.    If payment is not received by October 2 your apparel order will be cancelled.

            The Clarion Resort Fontainebleau Hotel has been selected as our Host hotel.  The Clarion is located at 10100 Coastal Highway (101^st Street on the Ocean).   Our Welcoming/Information Committee, Registration, Car Teching, the Friday Night Welcoming Party, the Saturday Night Buffet Dinner and the Awards Ceremony will take place at this location.

*FUN SHOWS DESCRIPTION -

            The Show Field lot is located at the “Inlet Parking Lot” - The Hugh T. Cropper Inlet Parking Lot located at the southern most point of Ocean City.
            We will run three (3) Fun Shows simultaneously.  The Corvettes will be separated into Classes chosen by Free State Corvette Club.  There will be no modified class.  All three (3) Shows will be NCCC sanctioned.

            The participants of the Show will judge the Single Fun Show.  Our Spina Bifida friends, that Free State Corvette Club has invited to attend, will judge the Spina Bifida Fun Show and we will have 2 Celebrity Judges judge the third show.  You must be registered for the Single Fun Show to register/participate in the Spina Bifida Show.  Each Show will be awarded trophies.  Each Show registered participant will be awarded NCCC points.  Each registered participating car will receive a dash plaque.  We will also be awarding an “Ocean City Choice” trophy.  The show field will be limited to the first 300 registered PAID Corvettes.

*RALLYE DESCRIPTION -

            Starting point will be at the “Inlet Parking Lot” - The Hugh T. Cropper Inlet Parking Lot located at the southern most point of Ocean City.       
            We will run three (3) Rallyes simultaneously, a Poker, Gimmick & Scrabble Rallye.   Participants will have a choice of running just the Poker Rallye,  either the Poker + Gimmick or Poker + Scrabble or all three rallyes.  You must be registered in the Poker Rallye to register/participate in the Gimmick or Scrabble Rallyes.  All Rallyes will be NCCC sanctioned. 

            A Navigator is required to participate in any Rallye and must be registered.  Children must be 9 years of age on the day of the rallye to participate as navigator.

            All drivers must possess a VALID DRIVERS LICENSE and will be asked to present it at sign-in.  If you are ticketed for lack of license plates, as required by your state law, you willl be disqualified from the event per NCCC rules.

            Several checkpoints will be set up along the driving course.  Each Rallye will be awarded trophies.  Each registered participating car will receive a dash plaque.  Each Rallye registered driver and navigator will receive NCCC points.  The Rallye will be limited to the first 150 registered PAID Corvettes.
