We are once again participating in this year’s Catonsville July 4th parade! We will meet at the Krispy Kreme on Route40 (6447 Baltimore National Pike, Catonsville Md. 21228) at 1 PM and head out at 1:30 after a short driver's meeting. The parade starts at 3pm, but they want us lined up early. Please feel free to decorate your Corvette in red, white, and blue (there will be plenty of time to do this while waiting for the parade to start). Some things to bring are chairs, club radio and something to drink for the wait before the parade. A few reminders for during the parade: NO political anything and nothing can be thrown from the vehicles (candy, paper, etc.) and, of course, no burnouts.
I’m hoping to add something new for parades this year. Thanks to Marty Rockenstire, we have a shiny new banner announcing our club’s 50th anniversary, and I thought it would be cool to have that carried in front of the group as we participate in parade throughout the year. But, we need volunteers to do so, so maybe you or someone in your family who’s always wanted to be in a parade will step up. Please keep in mind that the banner is 48” X 48”, so the carriers would need to be tall enough to carry the banner comfortably.
Jerry and Carol Apicella have extended an open invitation to the club to join them for a 4th of July party @ 4:30pm.
Members and immediate family member welcome.
Side dishes welcomed along with favorite beverage. Golf chipping contest @ 5:30, volleyball, shuffleboard, and sky painting @ 9:30.
Swim suits optional.
